Monday, June 7th
It was our last day of kindergarten! We had a morning meeting, then went to the all school assembly in the gym. We got to watch a slide show of all the kids/activities at Horizon. We sang the Horizon song together. When we got back to our classroom we did beach relays with Mrs. Whitney's class. It was fun. We did a fish relay, a spoon zoom with sea shells, a flip flop relay, and a water relay using wet sponges. :) Then we had a picnic lunch in our community area. We played outside for noon recess, then came back to our classroom for a short "beach" rest time. We did different beach stations...ocean book looks from the pool, fish creation station, and float or sink. We celebrated Shae's birthday. She brought cupcakes to share with us. :) We got to play in inflatables in the gym. They were sponsored by our PTO. It was awesome! We were tired after that. We came back to the room for our afternoon meeting. We sang, and said goodbye to each other. We ended our day with a hug. :) It was a fun beach day and a great school year! Happy Summer to all the Kindergarteners and families of Room 163! Enjoy.....

We celebrated Bella's real birthday and Tenley's summer birthday today. :) They both brought special treats for us. Bella brought cupcakes and juice. Tenley brought cookies and juice. We had PE today. We did "Mission Impossible." Nora's mom came for lunch. Pete's dad came for lunch. Bella's mom came for lunch. We had guidance. We had surprise guests talk about first grade. We did kindergarten capers. Awesome talent! :) Sneha was our line leader. Sydney was our backer. We played math BINGO. We went to the computer lab. We had a good day! :)

Thursday, June 3rd
B and Libby came to visit us today. B read a book to us. Libby wrote us a note and gave us first grade pencils. We are supposed to use them in our summer journals. We had outside recess. We spent time with our fourth grade buddies. We wrote our buddies a note and they gave us a note. We had popcisles on the playground with them and we took a walk. We ate lunch. We had art class. Laura was the sound crown greeter. It was our 177th day of school. We celebrated Cameron's birthday today! Cameron brought cupcakes to share and he got to take the first bite. His real birthday is August 9th. We had lots of great acts in our Kindergarten Capers talent show. We had quiet rest time. Pete was our line backer. Natalie was our line leader. Tenly was our calendar helper. Patrick and Logan were the room checkers. We had a good day!

We had outside recess today. Riley was the mailbox helper today. We had library and music today. Keegan was our line leader. Dessa was our line backer. Today was our 176th day of school. TJ and JT were our room checkers today. We had a parrot show...pirate show from the Johnston Public Library today. We are supposed to sign-up for their summer reading program. It starts on June 7th. We wrote the news. We started Kindergarten Capers todays. We saw some awesome talent! :) We will have more acts tomorrow and Friday. It was a sunny day. We had centers. We had a supercalifragilisticexpealidocious day! :)

Our baby chicks hatched over the weekend! :) We got to hold them today. They are soft. One more chick needs to hatch. We finished our chick journals. The chicks are cute! Nora was a student reader today. We celebrated Laura's birthday today. She brought cupcakes. She also read to the class. Becca was our line leader. Dessa was our line backer. We had PE. We had art class. We are taking our art portfolios home today. Owen shared his toads today. Bella shared her new dog today. We wrote the news. Today was our 175th day of school. Grace and Natalie were our room checkers today. JT's mom came today and we presented her with a flower pot and poster for volunteering this school year. JT was our sound crown greeter. We did activity bags. We had free choice centers. It was our last day of the classroom store. We had outside recess. We had art class. We are taking home our pots. Emma was our mailbox helper. Tomorrow is field day. We need to remember to....wear tennis shoes, bring a non-disposable water bottle, and bring sunscreen. We should have our moms and dads put sunscreen on us before we come to school. Names should be on our containers of sunscreen and our water bottles. Some students need to bring a lunch/drink. Some students ordered a school lunch...hot dogs or hamburgers. Patrick shared for star of the week time. We made top ten list of things to do this summer....

Zoey was our line leader. Nora was our line backer. We had music and library today. JT received his second purple pillar and Laura received a blue pillar. Owen lost a tooth at lunch today. :) B came to paint reading rocks with us. Sneha read to us today. We need to bring back backpacks and library books tomorrow! Kenny and Owen were our room checkers. There are 8 more days left of school. Sydney's Nana came to help today. We looked through our portfolios today. We had a sweet day! :)

Field day is on Friday. We need to remember to...wear tennis shoes, bring sunscreen, and a bring a water bottle. Our names should be on the water bottles and sunscreen. Some students ordered a school lunch and some students are bringing his/her own lunch. We had PE today and talked about field day. We practiced the games. We had art class. Nora and Bella were our room checkers. Logan lost a tooth at school today. :) Today was our 171st day of school. We packed our portfolios. We had a good day! :)

Monday, May 24thWe caught a lot of fish at the farm. 109! Wow! Pete Sackett caught the biggest fish that day. :) We celebrated Eli's birthday at the farm. He brought us donuts and juice for breakfast that day. The bull got out when we were fishing. There was a lot of mud at the farm. We had fun. We saw and momma goat and her baby (kid). We had lots of parents go with us, along with a grandma. We had fun fishing. It was a long bus ride. We saw cow manure. We saw some baby cows. (calves) Today was our 170th day of school. Erik M. was our line backer.
We went to music class. We celebrated Patrick's birthday today. We ate lunch. Next Monday is a holiday. Friday is our field day at Saylorville. Zoey read to the class. We had a great day! :)

Tomorrow is our farm field trip. :) We talked about expectations for the trip. We need to remember our lunches, drinks, fishing poles, and worms. We also talked about wearing sweatshirts, because it might be cold. If it rains, Mrs. Strayer is going to call us at home in the morning. Erik M. shared for star of the week time. We earned a star party today. We acted out the story of The Three Little Pigs. We had a good day! :)
